Well, that was fast.
Just three days after announcing his plans to come out of retirement in order to fight rival Derek Chisora for a third time, heavyweight boxing champ Tyson Fury is yet again retiring.
Fury made the announcement on Twitter on Friday morning.

He then continued the thread, thanking a number of people who helped him along the way. The announcement coincides with Fury’s 34th birthday on Friday.
Fury’s first announcement regarding the fight with Chisora caused many to speculate that a future fight with WBA, IBF and WBO titleholder Oleksandr Usyk could be on the cards. Fury is currently the reigning WBC heavyweight champion,
The second retirement comes just under four months after Fury initially retired following a victory over Dillan Whyte at Wembley Stadium in April. The victory moved Fury to to 32-0-1 in his professional career.
Since that time, Fury has been helping with the boxing career of his younger brother, Tommy Fury. The younger Fury was originally set to fight Jake Paul at Madison Square Garden. That fight was eventually called off following a lengthy saga that saw Paul and Fury exchange barbs in the media.

Fury will vacate the WBC belt should he remain retired. There are currently no plans for a title fight on the cards. Though Usyk would be the logical choice for one of the spots.
