NBA G League Ignite’s Scoot Henderson is a superstar waiting to happen.
Henderson is a 2023 NBA Draft prospect who lit it up against professionals in the G League last season before even turning 18.
Last night while Banchero and Chet were facing off, Scoot Henderson dropped 31 with 5 assists against a Santa Cruz team with Kuminga, Moody. Explosive playmaker, money pull-up game. 17-year-old would be first guard off the board if eligible for 2022. Special PG prospect. pic.twitter.com/JpbnRlIIGG

Now he’s setting records off the court as well. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Henderson is set to sign a 7-figure endorsement deal which is the largest ever for a non-draft-eligible basketball player.
G League Ignite’s Scoot Henderson – a projected top-3 pick in 2023 NBA Draft – is signing an endorsement contract with Puma that is the richest shoe deal ever for a non-draft-eligible basketball player, sources say.

Perhaps even more surprising is that Henderson’s deal doesn’t come with Nike, Jordan, Adidas or Under Armour. Hederson is signing a deal to become one of the signature athletes for Puma. While not as notable as the above brands, Puma has staked its claim in the NBA in a big way.
The brand currently has deals with stars such as Deandre Ayton, Marcus Smart, Kyle Kuzma and Lamelo Ball. Puma has taken a unique approach, targeting young players such as Henderson and Ayton before they blow up.
Henderson is the perfect candidate for this approach. The 18-year-old is surefire top-five pick in the 2023 NBA Draft and is a highlighting waiting to happen.

It appears Puma got in on the ground floor of a future superstar. And Scoot Henderson is now very, very wealthy.
