NBA G League Ignite’s Scoot Henderson is a superstar waiting to happen.

Henderson is a 2023 NBA Draft prospect who lit it up against professionals in the G League last season before even turning 18.

Now he’s setting records off the court as well. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Henderson is set to sign a 7-figure endorsement deal which is the largest ever for a non-draft-eligible basketball player.

Perhaps even more surprising is that Henderson’s deal doesn’t come with Nike, Jordan, Adidas or Under Armour. Hederson is signing a deal to become one of the signature athletes for Puma. While not as notable as the above brands, Puma has staked its claim in the NBA in a big way.

The brand currently has deals with stars such as Deandre Ayton, Marcus Smart, Kyle Kuzma and Lamelo Ball. Puma has taken a unique approach, targeting young players such as Henderson and Ayton before they blow up.

Henderson is the perfect candidate for this approach. The 18-year-old is surefire top-five pick in the 2023 NBA Draft and is a highlighting waiting to happen.

It appears Puma got in on the ground floor of a future superstar. And Scoot Henderson is now very, very wealthy.
