Tom Brady is back! After two weeks away from the team for undisclosed reason. Brady was back at Tampa Bay Buccaneers practice on Monday and looking like he never missed a beat according to Greg Auman of The Athletic.

Until recently, the reasons surrounding Brady’s time away were unknown and some, including former Tampa Bay teammate Antonio Brown, weren’t overly pleased with the situation. Buccaneers first-year head coach Todd Bowles didn’t help quell speculation with his answers to media. In fact, Bowles himself indicated that he didn’t know when Brady would be back.

Now it appears we have at least a little bit of clarity about Brady’s whereabouts.

Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Network reports that at least part of Brady’s time away was spent on vacation with family.

“League sources indicated that Brady’s time away from the team included a trip to the Bahamas at an exclusive resort and primarily for family time with his wife, Gisele Bündchen. His commitment to family and having a personal life was at the heart of this hiatus from football, and there was no medical emergency, as speculated, or other reasons.”

Brady previously cited family as the reason for his brief retirement following the 2021 season. So it comes as no surprise to see him try to spend more time with them. Some across the league may not appreciate the special treatment. But when you’ve won seven Super Bowls, you get to make the rules.

Brady is now back and firing and the Bucs are looking forward to week one of the regular season. Tampa Bay travels to Dallas to take on Cowboys on Sunday Night Football Sept. 11.
