Matchups of the two top-ranked teams in the country don’t happen very often in college football. In fact, it’s only happened 24 times in the history of the AP poll. And now, this weekend, we will have another matchup as AP #2 Tennessee meets #1 Georgia between the hedges at 3:30 on Saturday. Not surprisingly, tickets are expensive.
But, they’re not just a little expensive. They’re more expensive than any regular-season college football ticket we have on record. And, fans are willing to pay.
Tickets are at a record price
The price will absolutely shock you.
#1 Tennessee at #3 Georgia is currently the most expensive regular season college football game on record, per @tickpick.

That is a wild amount of money. The median weekly income in the state of Georgia is right around $600, so for nearly half the folks of the state, the cheapest ticket is more than their weekly, pre-tax salary. And, couple in the demand from Volunteer fans, who I’m sure are doing whatever they can to get tickets, and you get a situation like this.
Of course, people, being dead serious, somehow linked it to inflation.
Joe Biden's inflation

But, a lot of people said they would still pay the price.
Worth every penny

Some, though, disagree.

Let’s hope it’s an absolutely classic game and those fans get their money’s worth.
