Saquon Barkley Was One Of The Best Running Backs In The NFL

Saquon Barkley’s rookie season put the entirely of the NFL on notice.

The New York Giants selected Barkley with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft and were immediately repaid for their faith in the Penn State product.

Barkley put up ridiculous stats in his rookie year, rushing for 1,307 yards and 11 touchdowns in addition to making 91 catches for 721 yards and four touchdowns. For his efforts, Barkley was named the league’s offensive rookie of the year. He was also selected to his first career Pro Bowl.

Injuries Have Taken Their Toll

Since then, Barkley has yet to complete a full season for the Giants and played in just two games in 2020 after tearing his ACL. Barkley has also struggled with injuries to his ankle and calf over the last three seasons. His highest rushing total since his rookie year was 1,0003 yards and he’s caught just a total of 99 balls in the three seasons since 2018.

Barkley Back To 100 Percent

Now, Barkley says that he’s back to 100 percent and has his swagger back.

Not only did Barkley tell media at Giants’ minicamp that he’s regained his health, but for the New York bell cow says that he’s regained confidence that he says was lost due to the injuries.

This admission has led to a lot of excitement from Giants’ fans hoping to see a big season in 2022 from No. 26.

If Barkley is truly healthy and with head coach in Brian Daboll, the Giants could be a sneaky bet to make noise in the NFC East.
