The NFL season is almost here. The Los Angeles Rams, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Buffalo Bills, and Kansas City Chiefs are a few teams with Super Bowl aspirations this year.
However, one team just received a pretty surprising bet on the sports betting landscape: The Detroit Lions. This specific bet would pay out $300,000 if the Lions shock the entire world and win the Super Bowl (h/t ClutchPoints Betting).

So, a $2,000 dollar bet would cash $300k if the Lions pull off this unreal upset. Now, with Jared Goff at quarterback and a very patchy defense, it seems unlikely.
However, they do have weapons on offense. Running back D’Andre Swift just gave a shocking goal for the season, and TJ Hockenson, rookie Jameson Williams, surprise sensation Amon-Ra St. Brown and DJ Chark could give defenses trouble.
But, still, it seems very unlikely that the Lions even make the playoffs in the NFC North. The Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings are both talented teams and should make the playoffs.
Nonetheless, this is a hefty bet to place on the Lions. On the other hand, if this actually happens, then this bettor needs to play the lottery faithfully.
Go Detroit, I guess, for the pure sake of an unbelievable story.
