Say it ain’t so, Chuck!

Charles Barkley is generally one of the most well-liked figures in all of sports. Whether it’s from his NBA career, his hilarious golf high jinx, or his time as a host on Inside the NBA on TNT, everybody seems to love themselves some Chuck.

Barkley made himself even more popular recently with his comments on LGBTQ rights that made the round on the internet.

Now the Basketball Hall of Famer may be undoing some of that work to earn good will. Barkley recently revealed that he would meet with golfer Greg Norman to discuss a role with Saudi-backed LIV Golf Series. Now it turns out that if Barkley took a role with LIV, he’d likely have to leave TNT and Inside the NBA.

The last part of that report comes via Dan Patrick, who spoke about Barkley and LIV on his show Tuesday morning.

“Charles knows that he may have to leave TNT to do this,” Patrick said. “I’m just putting it out there, what I was told. What I was told this morning. Charles knows he may have to leave TNT. That would be bad for everybody.”

The upstart league has already landed star players such as Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau. Now it seems to be trying to corner the market on broadcast talent as well. LIV recently added NBC’s David Feherty to the fray in an unspecified role.

Barkley potentially leaving TNT has fans pretty upset.

For as big additions as each of those golfers were, adding someone with Barkley’s clout may just be the biggest pull yet.
