The parlay had the Cincinnati Reds defeating the Miami Marlins and that game going over nine runs. The final was 11-2, with the Reds getting the victory.
Then, the Philadelphia Phillies over the Atlanta Braves, and that game going over the 8.5-run mark. It did just that, although it sure didn’t look like it.
The Phillies were losing to the Braves 4-3 in the bottom of the eighth. But that’s when Stott changed everything for the Phils that night — and changed the life of this bettor. Stott clobbered a go-ahead three-run home run and finished the night with five RBIs.
